Applies to vehicles: with bicycle carrier
You can transport one or two bicycles (up to 26'' wheel size) in the luggage compartment.
The set consists of a securing plate -1-, a bag -2-, a fastening belt -3- and a tensioning strap -4-.
Preparations
Fold down the backrests Link.
Hook the load guard into place Link.
Fold back the floor panel Link.
On vehicles with rail system*, slide the fastening rings into the four corners of the rail system Link.
Place the plate for securing the front fork Fig. 1 -1- in the dirt tray.
Detach the front wheel and the saddle post from the bicycle and place them both in the bag -2-.
Push the bicycle into the luggage compartment, rear wheel first.
Securing the front fork
Secure the front fork to the securing plate -1- using the quick clamp. The quick clamp can be turned at the screw connection.
Hang the bag over the saddle tube -a-. The bag with the saddle should be facing towards the right.
Use the tensioning strap on the bag to secure the bicycle to the fastening ring -b-.
If applicable, repeat these steps to secure the second bicycle.
Securing the rear wheel
Open the rear door and insert the pin on the tensioning strap -4- into the saddle tube -c- Fig. 2.
Attach the hooks to the front fastening rings -d- and pull the tensioning strap -e- tight.
Loop one end of the fastening belt -3- into the hook on the tensioning strap which is already attached to the rear fastening ring.
Guide the fastening belt over the bicycle frame and behind the handlebars, and loop the other end of the fastening belt into the second hook which is attached to the other rear fastening ring.
Pull the loose end of the fastening belt to secure the bicycles.
Caution!
- Take care when securing the bicycle to avoid any damage to the vehicle.
- Before closing the boot lid make sure that the bicycle will not make contact with the boot lid.
