Applies to: vehicles with plug-in hybrid drive
EV mode is only active if the following conditions are met:
- The high-voltage battery must be sufficiently charged.
- The high-voltage battery must be at an appropriate temperature (not below approx. -10 °C or above approx. +55 ℃ outside temperature).
- The selector lever must not be in the S position.
If one or more conditions are not met, EV mode will be deactivated. The combustion engine will start automatically. The LED in the button and the indicator lamp will go out.
Electric driving will not be resumed automatically. Activate the EV mode again link►.
Pressing the accelerator down past the point of resistance or exceeding a speed of 135 km/h while the vehicle is in EV mode will cause EV mode to be suspended temporarily (standby). The indicator lamp will light up. EV mode will be reactivated when you ease up on the accelerator and the speed drops below 135 km/h. The LED in the button will light up and remain lit, and the indicator lamp will appear.
Note
For technical reasons, for instance if there is a build-up of condensation in the engine, the combustion engine may need to run for a longer period. During this phase it is not possible to drive on electric power alone.
