Applies to vehicles: with car telephone kit
Important: Available mobile phones must be shown on the MMI display
Link, and the vehicle must be stationary.
Turn the rotary pushbutton to select a mobile phone and press the
rotary pushbutton.
To bond the mobile phone with SIM Access Profile, turn the rotary
pushbutton to Car phone and press the
rotary pushbutton. A 16-digit PIN code

will appear on the MMI display.
To enter the 16-digit PIN code shown in the display, select
Yes

Enter this PIN code on the mobile phone. You will be given about
30 seconds to complete the entry, or
To enter any 16-digit PIN code, select No.
Enter any 16-digit PIN code via the speller
Link. Then also enter this 16-digit PIN code on the mobile phone.
You will be given about 30 seconds to complete the entry.
Confirm the bonding process on the mobile phone when prompted to
do so. The Bluetooth symbol -1-
Fig. 2 will
appear in the status line of the MMI display when the mobile phone
has been bonded successfully.
Enter the PIN code for your SIM card

After the mobile phone has been connected or the SIM card has been
inserted, the contacts are automatically loaded into the directory
of the MMI. It may take several minutes to load the entries, depending
on how many contacts are stored on the mobile phone. For more information
about the directory, please refer to

You can save the PIN code for your SIM card for the automatic PIN
recognition function only after the mobile phone has been bonded
to the car telephone kit. To do so, confirm the prompt on the MMI
display with Yes or change the settings
in the Telephone menu

after entering the SIM PIN code for the first time.
If your mobile phone does not support the SIM Access Profile, you
can insert the SIM card into the SIM card reader or into the handset*
Link.
Note
- You have to enter the PIN code once only. Any Bluetooth devices that have already been bonded to the MMI system once are connected automatically when they are within range. Please pay attention to any connection queries on your mobile phone.
- You can delete stored Bluetooth devices using the function Delete external Bluetooth devices Link.
