- Fig. 1 Instrument cluster: Advanced gear-change indicator
Applies to Audi A6s: with manual gearbox, on-board computer and gear-change indicator
Important: The efficiency programme must be displayed ►Link. A filling nozzle is the icon for the efficiency programme.
Scroll the thumbwheel ►Link until the instrument cluster display shows the advanced gear-change indicator.
The efficiency programme includes an advanced gear-change indicator. This advanced gear-change indicator is based on the same logic as the "regular" gear-change indicator ►Link. The current and recommended gears are highlighted in traffic light colours (red/amber/green).
The colour of the circle indicates whether the car is already in the appropriate gear or whether you need to shift up or down.
Green circle with or without gear |
Appropriate gear (or no gear) selected |
Amber circle Fig. 1 |
Shift up/down one gear |
Red circle |
Shift up two gears |
Caution!
The advanced gear-change indicator is intended to help save fuel. It is not intended to recommend the right gear for all driving situations. In certain situations, only the driver can choose the correct gear (for instance when overtaking, driving up a steep gradient or towing a trailer).
Note
The "regular" gear-change indicator* disappears from the display when the advanced gear-change indicator appears.
