Applies to: vehicles with folding backrest
The backrests can be folded down separately* or together.
Folding outer backrest up/down
Pull the release lever -A- Fig. 85► in the direction indicated by the arrow and fold down the backrest. Engage the backrest in the lowest position.
Move the backrest back into its upright position until it engages and the red marking -B- is no longer visible ►.
Folding centre backrest up/down
Pull the release lever at the top -1- and fold down the backrest -2- Fig. 86►.
Move the backrest back into its upright position and make sure it engages.
Applies to: Saloon
When the backrest is engaged in its upright position, it can be locked -C- with the emergency key link►. This prevents access to the luggage compartment from inside the vehicle. The luggage compartment can only be extended when the backrest is not locked.
- Make sure that the rear backrest is securely locked in position so that the seat belt can provide proper protection in the rear seats.
- The rear backrest must always be securely latched so that objects stored in the luggage compartment will not fly forward during sudden braking.
- When returning the backrest to an upright position, make sure that the seat belts for the outer rear seats are not caught up and damaged.
- If you need to adjust the front seats when either of the rear backrests is folded forwards, please take care to avoid damaging the rear head restraints.
- Lower the rear head restraints before you fold down the backrest link► - risk of damage!
- When the Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE)* is fitted, lower the rear head restraints before you fold down the backrest link► - risk of damage!
