The service interval display detects when the next service is due
for your vehicle.
There are two service interval display levels:
- Inspection or oil change reminder: After a certain mileage, a service reminder will appear in the instrument cluster display when the ignition is switched on/off Fig. 1. The distance or time remaining will be shown briefly.
- Inspection or oil change due: When your vehicle is due for an inspection, oil change or both, the corresponding reminder Inspection due! / INSP, Oil change due! / OIL or Oil change and inspection due! / OIL AND INSP will appear briefly after you switch the ignition on.
Checking the service intervals
You can look up the distance and time remaining until the next
oil change or next service inspection:
- In the instrument cluster: Switch on the ignition and press and hold the SET button -8- Fig. 3 until the hour display starts to flash. Then press the SET button repeatedly until the service interval display appears Fig. 2. -A- indicates the time remaining (in days) until the next service. -B- indicates the type of service required (INSPECTION / INSP or OIL CHANGE / OIL) or the distance remaining to the next service.
- Select the following on the infotainment system* : Function selector button CAR > control button Systems / Car systems* > Servicing & checks > Service intervals.
You cannot check the service interval for the first 500 km or
so after resetting the display or when your vehicle is new.
Resetting the display
Your qualified workshop resets the service interval display
after each service.
It is very important that you reset the oil change display if
you change the oil yourself.
To reset the display, proceed as follows:
- In the instrument cluster: Select the oil change display Link. Press and hold the 0.0 button -7- Fig. 3 for at least three seconds.
- Select the following on the infotainment system* : Function selector button CAR > control button Systems / Car systems* > Servicing & checks > Service intervals. Turn the rotary pushbutton to scroll down to Reset oil change interval and press to confirm.
Caution!
- Do not reset the oil change interval display unless you have changed the oil.
- Keeping to the correct service intervals is most important for the service life and residual value of the vehicle (and especially for the life of the engine). Services must always be carried out promptly, even if the mileage is low.
- The time until the next oil change is not counted down if the battery is disconnected. If your vehicle is out of service for an extended period, please refer to the Service Schedule for details of the next service date.
