Applies to vehicles: with folding backrests
The backrests can be folded down separately or together by means of two release levers.
Release lever on backrest
To fold down the backrest, pull the release lever -A- Fig. 1 in the direction indicated (arrow).
Release lever in luggage compartment
To fold down the backrest, pull the release lever Fig. 2 in the direction indicated (arrow).
Returning backrest to an upright position
Move the backrest back into its upright position until it engages and the red marking -B- is no longer visible WARNING!.
When the backrest is engaged in its upright position, it can be locked -C- with the emergency key Link. This prevents access to the luggage compartment from inside the vehicle.
The luggage compartment can only be extended when the backrest is not locked.
WARNING!
The rear backrest must always be securely latched so that objects stored in the luggage compartment will not fly forward during sudden braking.
Caution!
  • If you need to adjust the front seats when either of the rear backrests is folded forwards, please take care to avoid damaging the rear head restraints.
  • When returning the backrest to an upright position, make sure that the seat belts for the outer rear seats are in their guides so that they cannot be caught up and damaged in the catches for the backrest. It is also important to remove any other objects from the rear seats to avoid damaging the backrest when folding it forwards.
