Applies to: vehicles with plug-in hybrid drive
During the charging cycle, you can switch between immediate charge -3- and charging timer -1- if a charging timer has been set. Simply press the desired button Fig. ►.
The following options are available for charging:
Immediate charging
To start charging immediately, press button -3- Fig. ►. The LED in the button will light up.
Setting the charging timers
A time delay for charging can be set using the timers on the infotainment system. You can set two different timers.
If a timer has already been set, press button -1- Fig. ►. The LED in the button will light up.
To set a charging timer, select: MENU button > Car > left control button > Charging > right control button > Program timer.
Select Single timer or Repeat timer.
Set the departure time, date and day of the week.
You can activate the air conditioner during the charging cycle by selecting Electric air conditioning with the rotary pushbutton. A 
will appear in the box. This activation setting is independent of the infotainment system settings in the auxiliary air conditioning menu link►.

Press the BACK button.
Use the rotary pushbutton to confirm the setting and activate the timer. A will appear in the box.

You can enter a preferred charging time for the timer you have programmed if you wish to use an off-peak rate, for instance.
Select: MENU button > Car > left control button > Charging > right control button > Program timer.
Power saving mode
The power saving mode is automatically activated if you do not use the operating unit for longer than one minute. The LED -A- Fig. ► will remain lit. All other LEDs will go out.
To switch the power saving mode on/off manually, press the 
button -A- Fig. ►.

Power saving mode is automatically deactivated when you plug the vehicle charging connector into the vehicle.
LED -A- flashes when the high-voltage battery is being charged.
Note
- The air conditioner runs on electric power if you activate it via the charging timer. This can be done in confined spaces such as garages.
- It is only possible to select the electric air conditioning via the charging timer. After the ignition has been switched off, a charging timer can be activated on the infotainment system where the auxiliary heating* can be selected on a one-off basis. Please refer to the important safety notes ►.
- If the auxiliary air conditioning is active, the charging status of the high-voltage battery may decrease even when it is being charged.
- The high-voltage battery is also charged in power saving mode.
- If the vehicle is being charged, the charging cycle will not be interrupted when power saving mode is activated.
- The charging cycle can be interrupted at any time. To do so, press the activated button on the vehicle Fig. ►.
