Audi Q7   Controls   adaptive air suspension  Pneumatic suspension and damping
Applies to vehicles: with adaptive air suspension
You can change the ride settings and see the current height level in the MMI.
Important: The ignition must be switched on.
Select: Function selector button CAR.
Raising and lowering the suspension
If the arrow -1- is white Fig. 1, the vehicle will move upwards.
If the arrow -2- is white, the vehicle will move downwards.
The arrows will remain lit until the vehicle has stopped moving up or down. The time required for adjusting the suspension level varies according to the current driving situation.
Suspension level display
The currently selected suspension level is shown by the highlighted segments in the display -3-. The suspension is at the Low (motorway) level when only the bottom segment in the display is highlighted. The suspension is at Raised level 2 (maximum ground clearance) when all the segments are highlighted.
While the suspension is moving up or down to the next required level, this is indicated by an arrow -4- adjacent to the corresponding segment. This arrow disappears when the required suspension level is reached.
Restrictions when selecting settings in the MMI
Please note that certain suspension settings are not available in some situations. For example, the lift setting cannot be selected if the speed is above 20 km/h. This setting will then appear greyed out in the MMI display to show that it is not active.
The suspension can only be lowered when all the doors are shut. If one of the doors is still open, all the ride settings that would change the suspension height to a lower level will appear greyed out in the MMI display. If one of the doors is opened while the suspension is being lowered, the movement will be stopped until all the doors are closed again.
If the system is temporarily out of action, for instance due to a lack of pressure in the air reservoir, the ride settings that are currently not available will appear in grey lettering in the MMI display. The ride settings will become available again as soon as the normal function of the system is restored.
Note
  • For more information on the ride settings please refer to Link.
  • If the system is inactive due to a lack of pressure in the air reservoir, you can rectify this by starting the engine to activate the compressor. The normal function of the adaptive air suspension will then be restored after a short delay.
  • To prevent a system overload, the system briefly switches itself off if the settings have been changed several times in succession. The normal function of the adaptive air suspension will then be restored after a short delay.
