The parking brake replaces the handbrake.
Applying parking brake
Press the pedal Fig. 1 -A- downwards firmly in the direction of the arrow.
Releasing parking brake
Pull the release lever -B- to the rear in the direction of the arrow WARNING!.
If you drive by mistake with the parking brake still applied, you will hear a warning buzzer and the display will show the message:
Parking brake is applied
The parking brake warning becomes active after driving for 3 seconds at a speed above 5 km/h.
The warning lamp lights up when the parking brake is applied with the ignition on.
Please note that the parking brake should be released all the way. If it is only partially released this will cause overheating of the rear brakes, which can impair the function of the brake system and could lead to an accident.
Caution!
Once the vehicle has come to a standstill, always apply the parking brake firmly and then move the selector lever to position P.
