Applies to: vehicles with Audi adaptive cruise control and automatic gearbox
The adaptive cruise control also assists you when driving in congested traffic. If a vehicle in front stops, the adaptive cruise control applies the brakes (within the limits imposed by the system) and holds the vehicle at a standstill.
Using the adaptive cruise control to set the vehicle in motion1)
If the message ACC: ready to drive off is on the display and the vehicle in front drives off, your vehicle will automatically start moving ►.
If you have been stopped for a few seconds or more, the message will disappear and your vehicle will no longer move off automatically for safety reasons.
You can reactivate the ACC: ready to drive off message briefly by pulling the lever towards you to position -2-

To set the vehicle in motion again manually, tap the accelerator with your foot.

and instrument cluster display draw your attention to danger if an obstruction is detected when you drive off
Fig. 119► ►. In addition, a tone will sound. Your vehicle will then set off more slowly. This can happen in certain situations, even if there appears to be no obstacle.
- If necessary, press the brake pedal to slow down.
If the ACC: ready to drive off1) message appears, your vehicle will start moving even if there is an obstacle between your car and the vehicle in front - risk of accident!
Note
- For safety reasons, your vehicle will start moving only if
- the driver s seat belt is fastened,
- all the doors and the bonnet are closed,
- your vehicle has not been stopped for too long.
