The backrests can be folded down separately* or together.
Folding outer backrest up/down
Pull the release lever -A- Fig. 82► in the direction indicated by the arrow or pull the lever* Fig. ► upwards. The backrest will move forwards. Allow it to engage in the lowest position.

Folding centre backrest up/down
Pull the release lever at the top -1- and fold down the backrest -2- Fig. 83►. Alternatively, press the release button* -3- Fig. 83► and the red marking on the release button* will become visible. Fold down the backrest.
Move the backrest back into its upright position until it engages and the red marking is no longer visible ►.
- Make sure that the rear backrest is securely locked in position so that the seat belt can provide proper protection in the rear seats.
- The rear backrest must always be securely latched so that objects stored in the luggage compartment will not fly forward during sudden braking.
- If you need to adjust the front seats when either of the rear backrests is folded forwards, please take care to avoid damaging the rear head restraints.
- Lower the rear head restraints before you fold down the backrest link►. This is particularly important when the Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE)* is mounted - risk of damage!
- When returning the backrest to an upright position, make sure that the seat belts for the outer rear seats are not caught up and damaged.
