- Fig. 1 Front of vehicle: Radar sensor
Applies to vehicles: with Audi adaptive cruise control
Braking guard: off
This driver message appears when the system is switched off on the infotainment system. The message also appears briefly after you begin driving if the system is switched off.
The message will also appear if the system is unavailable due to an error or if the ESC is not switched on Link. In this state, the system no longer warns you about an impending collision.
Braking guard: activated
This driver message appears when the brakes are dabbed due to an acute warning.
Three white dots appear if a setting made with the control lever cannot be implemented. This happens, for example, if you try to increase or reduce the speed setting when a speed has not yet been stored.
ACC: deactivation
This message can appear on vehicles with a manual gearbox. The adaptive cruise control is switched off automatically if the clutch is depressed for too long. This is indicated by a warning tone.
ACC: sensor blocked
This message appears if the radar sensor vision is impaired, e.g. by leaves, snow, heavy road spray or dirt. Clean the sensor Fig. 1.
ACC: not available
This message appears, for example, if the brakes overheat. The adaptive cruise control will then temporarily not be available. This is indicated by a warning tone.
ACC: not available
This message appears if a malfunction occurs. The adaptive cruise control is switched off. This is indicated by a warning tone. Have the system checked by a qualified workshop.
Engine speed !
This message appears on vehicles with a manual gearbox if the driver does not change gear in time when the adaptive cruise control accelerates or brakes the vehicle. The adaptive cruise control is switched off if the engine speed is not maintained within the permissible range. This is indicated by a warning tone.
Gear lever position !
On vehicles with manual gearbox this message appears when no valid forward gear is selected, i.e. reverse gear or 1st gear is engaged or the gear lever is in the neutral position. The adaptive cruise control is not available when the lever is in these positions.
Selector lever position!
This message appears on vehicles with an automatic gearbox if the selector lever is moved to position N. The adaptive cruise control is not available when the lever is in this position.
Stabilisation control (ESC)
This message appears if the ESC intervenes. The adaptive cruise control is switched off. This is indicated by a warning tone.
Speed too low
This message appears if the current speed is too low to set or to maintain the target speed.
You cannot store speed settings below 30 km/h. The cruise control system switches off if the speed falls below 20 km/h. If the speed exceeds 200 km/h (OVERRIDE), the adaptive cruise control will remain switched on and will reduce the speed to 200 km/h once the driver stops accelerating.
Parking brake!
This message appears if the parking brake is operated. The adaptive cruise control will then be switched off. This is indicated by a warning tone.
