The warning and indicator lamps light up or flash in the instrument cluster to indicate functions or faults.
Some of the warning lamps may be accompanied by a driver message and a warning tone. Please also familiarise yourself with the warning lamps described on Link onwards.
Press brake pedal to start vehicle
This message appears if you try to start the engine without first pressing the brake pedal.
Engage N or P to start vehicle
This message appears if you try to start the vehicle when the selector lever is not in position N or P.
Hybrid drive: system fault. Power steering and brake servo possible failure
If the warning lamp lights up and the message appears, there is a malfunction in the hybrid system. The brake servo and the power steering system could stop working. Stop the vehicle in a safe place as soon as possible.
If the warning lamp goes out after you have attempted to start the vehicle several times, you can continue driving. Drive to a qualified workshop soon and have the fault rectified.
Hybrid drive: system fault. Contact workshop
If the indicator lamp lights up and the message appears, there is a malfunction in the hybrid system. Drive to a qualified workshop soon and have the fault rectified.
Hybrid system: Performance restricted. Please contact workshop
If the indicator lamp lights up and the message appears, there is a malfunction in the engine management system. In addition, the indicator lamp in the instrument cluster will light up. The engine power will be reduced. Drive to a qualified workshop without delay and have the fault rectified.
Hybrid drive deactivated. Please restart engine manually.
This driver message appears if the charge of the high-voltage battery drops below a certain level or, on vehicles with convenience key*, if the ignition key is no longer inside the vehicle.
Hybrid battery: low battery charge. Battery will be charged while driving.
This driver message appears if the charge of the high-voltage battery drops below a certain level. If this message disappears after a while, the high-voltage battery will have been sufficiently charged while driving.
If the message does not disappear, drive to a qualified workshop soon and have the fault rectified.
