As with a conventional vehicle, the car is either started with the ignition key Link or with the START ENGINE STOP* button Link.
The dials in the instrument cluster briefly move upwards when the vehicle is started. When the vehicle is ready to be driven, the status message hybrid ready appears briefly in the instrument cluster display and the needle in the power meter moves to READY Link.
Depending on the current status of the hybrid system, two potential states for the drive system are possible after the vehicle has been started:
Vehicle ready to be driven with combustion engine
If the operating requirements for electric driving are not fulfilled, the combustion engine starts in the usual way when you start the vehicle. You can drive normally.
Vehicle ready to be driven with electric motor
If the operating requirements for electric driving are fulfilled, the combustion engine remains switched off when you start the vehicle.
