Only use child restraint systems that are officially approved and suitable for the child.
Children who are less than 1.5 metres tall (or less than 12 years old) must always use child restraint systems suitable for their weight when travelling in the car 1). Child seats are divided into five weight categories Link.
Child restraint systems are covered by the European standard ECE R 44. An orange label is attached to child seats which have been tested in accordance with this standard. The label contains details of the child seat manufacturer, type designation, weight category, approval and production number.
