The launch control programme enables maximum acceleration.
Before you can use the launch control programme you must first switch off the ASR (traction control system) - the ESP indicator lamp will light up in the instrument cluster.The engine must also be warm and the steering wheel pointing straight-ahead when you use the launch control.
Press the ESP OFF button while the engine is running. The message "ESP Offroad" will appear in the instrument cluster display.
Move the selector lever to "S" or the tiptronic position.
Press the brake pedal firmly with your left foot and hold it down for at least one second.
With your right foot, press the accelerator down to the full throttle position (or kick-down). The engine speed will stabilise at about 3,200 rpm.
Take your left foot off the brake.
The Audi Q5 is equipped with an electronically controlled S tronic gearbox. A special launch control programme gives you optimum acceleration when starting from a standstill.
WARNING!
- Always adapt your driving style to the traffic conditions.
- Only use the launch control programme when road and traffic conditions permit, and make sure your manner of driving and accelerating the Audi Q5 does not inconvenience or endanger other road users.
- Please note that, when the Audi Q5 is in ESP off-road mode, the driven wheels may start to spin, causing the Audi Q5 to lose grip - danger of skidding!
- When acceleration has been completed, you should reactivate the ESP by briefly pressing the ESP switch.
