Select: TEL button > control button Settings.
Make calls using
mobile phone: Calls are made with the mobile phone connected using the Handsfree function. You can therefore be reached on the phone number of the SIM card in your mobile phone. In this case, the SIM card in the SIM card reader* is used for Audi connect services only Link.
SIM card inserted: The SIM card in the SIM card reader* is used both for telephone calls and Audi connect services. Your telephone conversations are directed via the external Audi Q3 aerial to optimise sound and reception quality. For the telephone options, you can be reached on the telephone number of the SIM card in the SIM card reader*. Depending on the SIM card type, this may be the same number as for your the current mobile phone contract (twin/Multi SIM card) or another number from a different mobile phone contract.
The MMI will restart after you have changed the option.
Call options
Call forward: Forwarding incoming calls to your mailbox or to another phone number can be activated/deactivated. Select the function Deactivate all to cancel all call forward settings.
Call waiting1): The warning (beep) that there is an incoming call during a telephone conversation can be activated/deactivated. Use Check status to display whether the call waiting function is on or off.
Transmit caller ID1): Sending your telephone number in outgoing calls can be activated/deactivated. With the Network-dependent option, the setting agreed in your mobile network service contract will be used. The settings apply only to the Telephone menu in the MMI system. When the Bluetooth connection has been severed, the settings of your mobile phone apply.
Auto redial: If this option is on, a telephone number is dialled automatically up to five times if the line is engaged. Select End call if you want to cancel the automatic redial function. The function only becomes active if the number you are trying to call is busy.
Auto answer: When this function is switched on, an incoming call is answered automatically shortly after it is received.
Telephone settings
Telephone mode: On Audi Q3s with a car telephone kit, you can choose between three different telephone modes to optimise the network response. With Automatic, the car telephone automatically switches between the UMTS network (3G) and the GSM network (2G) depending on network availability and reception and on the position of the Audi Q3. In this mode there might be restrictions when using Google Earth or Wireless LAN (Wi-Fi). With Telephony optimised, the car telephone kit registers with the GSM network (2G). In this mode, the reception is prioritised for making and receiving calls. There may be restrictions when using Google Earth or Wireless LAN (Wi-Fi). When you select the telephone mode Automatic or Telephony optimised, there may be network restrictions if you try to use Audi connect services and make voice calls at the same time. With Data services optimised, the car telephone registers with the UMTS (3G) or GSM (2G) network depending on network availability and reception and on the position of the Audi Q3. In this mode, the reception is prioritised for the use of data services. There may be restrictions when making and receiving calls. We recommend that you mainly use this setting in areas with good UMTS (3G) network coverage.
Ring tone selection2): The selected ring tone is played and is stored when you close the submenu.
Volume settings2): For the settings Ring tone volume/Volume of telephone call, see Link.
Call information2): When this function is switched on, the telephone numbers or names for incoming/outbound calls are shown in the MMI display. When switched off, asterisks ******** appear in the MMI display in place of telephone numbers and names. Telephone numbers stored on the MMI cannot be accessed. The call lists are not updated.
Delete call lists: To delete all entries in the Numbers dialled, Missed calls or Received calls call lists. Use the Delete all entries function to delete all local call lists of the MMI system.
Network settings: Connect to your service provider's network using the Login function automatically or select a network manually from a list of available networks. The available networks for the current position of the Audi Q3 can be selected in the Network selection. This option is only available when the manual login setting is activated.
Text message settings: Activate the Store sent text messages function to store the text messages that have been sent. Select Memory capacity to display the number of text messages stored on the SIM card, the remaining capacity on the SIM card and the number of existing text message templates. Select Service centre to retrieve or change the number of the message centre.
SIM PIN settings: When the Automatic SIM PIN recogn. function is on, the SIM PIN will be automatically saved in the MMI after it has been entered for the first time. In this case, you don't have to enter the SIM PIN code every time your mobile phone reconnects via Bluetooth. You can save the PIN codes of four different SIM cards on the MMI. If this function is switched off, the PIN currently stored in the MMI will be deleted. If the function is activated, the system does not perform a SIM PIN query. When the option Activate is selected at SIM PIN query, the system asks for the SIM PIN code every time you switch it on. Select Deactivate if you do not want the system to make a SIM PIN query when you switch it on. The setting for Automatic SIM PIN recognition is ignored in this case. Some SIM cards do not allow the SIM PIN query to be deactivated. Using the Change SIM PIN function, you can change the PIN code for your SIM card. First enter the existing PIN code for your SIM card. The SIM PIN code can only consist of numbers from 0 to 9. The new SIM PIN code has to be entered twice, as a precautionary measure, and is stored on the SIM card. If you change the SIM PIN code when the SIM card is in a connected mobile phone with remote SIM Access Profile, you will have to enter the SIM PIN code again on the mobile phone after the Bluetooth connection between the car telephone kit and the mobile phone is terminated. Otherwise you will not be reachable.
Mailbox number: You can enter or edit the mailbox number using the speller via the entry field Number. Once the mailbox number has been stored, you can call the mailbox by selecting the symbol in the speller. The mailbox number can be deleted with the option Delete mailbox number.
Invert call lists: The telephone numbers in the call lists are sorted by the time of the call. If this function is on, the list is sorted in reverse order.
Serial number (IMEI): The serial number of the telephone module installed in the MMI system is displayed.
Bluetooth
Bluetooth: The Bluetooth function of the MMI is switched on or off. When this function is on, the Bluetooth symbol -14- Fig. 1 will appear on the MMI display.
Discoverability: The discoverability of the MMI system for the mobile phone or Bluetooth audio player can be switched on/off. If you select auto, the MMI system can be discovered by mobile phones or Bluetooth audio players for a period of about five minutes while the car is stationary and the ignition is on. Discoverability is switched off after this period. Mobile phones or players which have already been connected can connect via Bluetooth even when discoverability is deactivated. Once you have connected your mobile phone, you should switch this function off to prevent your car telephone from being discovered by third parties. When audio files are played via a connected Bluetooth audio player, the discoverability option of the MMI system is automatically switched off; otherwise the files might not be played properly.
Bluetooth audio player: In order to be able to use the Bluetooth audio player as a source in the Media menu Link, the Bluetooth audio player function must be switched on. To avoid problems in Telephone or Media mode, switch the Bluetooth audio player function off when you are not using the Bluetooth audio player.
Find Bluetooth devices: The system will search for all Bluetooth devices within range and display them in a list.
Bonded Bluetooth devices: All Bluetooth devices connected to the MMI system are displayed in a list. The Bluetooth device that is currently connected is marked with the Bluetooth symbol. To delete connected Bluetooth devices one at a time, select a device and delete it by selecting the function Delete Bluetooth device. When mobile phones are connected, you can switch between the remote SIM Access Profile (Car phone), the Handsfree profile and the Audio player profile by selecting the Bluetooth device and changing the profile via the function Connect (the Audi Q3 must be stationary). Use the function Disconnect to disconnect the device currently bonded.
Known Bluetooth devices: Up to 50 known devices are displayed in a list. These Bluetooth devices may no longer be within range when you try to re-connect them.
Bluetooth name: The Bluetooth name of the MMI system (e.g. "AUDI MMI 2613") is displayed and can be changed.
Delete external Bluetooth devices: All connected Bluetooth devices can be deleted by confirming with Yes.
