| Driving away from a standstill |
– Use the selector lever to select position D. |

The temperature of the combustion engine increases very slowly, but fuel consumption increases considerably. |
| – Use the rear window and exterior mirror heating as well as the seat heating sparingly. |
This conserves the energy from the high-voltage battery and saves it for running the Audi A8 on electric power. | |
| – Leave the Audi A8 in a garage overnight. |
This prevents the high-voltage battery from becoming too cold. The high-voltage battery will reach its necessary operating temperature quicker after beginning a journey. |
