The tank flap can be released manually if the central locking system should fail to operate.
Removing the side trim
To remove the right side trim, first pull the bar out of the mountings Fig. 1.
Use a coin or similar to turn the two fasteners 90° anti-clockwise and remove them.
Swivel the bar upwards and pull out the trim. Put the trim down to the side (there is a power cable on the rear side of the trim).
Releasing the tank flap manually
Release the ring from its holder and carefully pull the ring Fig. 2 Caution!. You should now be able to open the tank flap in the usual way Link.
Caution!
Pull the ring only until you feel resistance; otherwise you may damage the manual release mechanism (you cannot hear it releasing the tank flap).
