The speech dialogue system offers two ways of entering a destination:
You can enter a destination directly by giving one command, or you can
enter a destination by saying a series of individual commands.
Important: Navigation mode must be activated
Link, and the speech dialogue system must be switched on
Link.
Entering a destination directly
Say ENTER DESTINATION. The input
menu will appear on the MMI display.
When the system gives you the cue, say the name of the town, street
and house number for the destination, or
To use the town centre as the destination, simply say the name of
the town.
To navigate to the destination you have entered, say
START ROUTE GUIDANCE.
Saying individual commands
To enter the country of the destination, say
ENTER COUNTRY and say the name
of the country.
To enter the town of the destination, say
ENTER TOWN and say the name
of the town.
To enter the street of the destination, say
ENTER STREET and say the name
of the street.
To enter the house number of the destination, say
ENTER HOUSE NUMBER and say the
house number, or
To use the town centre as the destination, simply say
CENTRE.
To navigate to the destination you have entered, say
START ROUTE GUIDANCE.
You can only enter a destination directly in certain countries. Additionally,
the selected menu language
Link must correspond with the country the destination is in.
Searching for towns can take several seconds. A list of town names will
appear in the MMI display when the search is finished. You can select
the desired town by saying the line number, e.g.
LINE FOUR, or by turning and pressing
the rotary pushbutton. Give the commands
NEXT PAGE or
PREVIOUS PAGE to scroll up and down
the list of town names. In many countries there are several towns with
the same name; in this case it is necessary to specify the town by selecting
it from the list again
Link.
Note
- You must spell the navigation destination if it is in a different country than the one you are currently in.
- You can also switch on the speech dialogue system and say a command when route guidance is active and a navigation cue is being played.
