Applies to vehicles: with car telephone kit
Various options can be used during a telephone call.
To show the available options on the MMI display, turn the rotary
pushbutton to Options and press it
while you are speaking on the phone, or
Press the control button for Options

The options available during a telephone call depend on the current
telephone status. For example, if two calls are active the option
Switch will appear on the MMI display

For example, if you set up a telephone conference using the
Join conference function, the options
Hold and Show
conference participants will appear in the MMI display.
Hold/Resume
The Hold and
Resume options allow you to hold
a call and retrieve it later from the hold queue.
On hold appears in the display,
together with the amount of time the call has been on hold.
To end a call that is on hold, press the control button for
End call.
Placing a further call (Dial)
First place the active call on hold by pressing the control
button for Options and selecting
Hold. Then turn the rotary pushbutton
to Further call and press the rotary
pushbutton to call up the main telephone functions. You can
enter a phone number via the option Enter
number or select a number from a call list
Link. Select OK or
Dial to start dialling.
Press the control button for End call
to end whichever call is active. If you placed a call on hold
earlier on, that call will remain on hold. You can end the call
that is on hold by pressing the control button for
End call again.
Switch microphone on/off
Your caller cannot hear your private conversations when the
microphone is off. You can still
hear the caller.
Transfer call/Retrieve call1)
With the Transfer call function,
you can transfer a call from the handsfree system to the handset*
or a second handset*. The handsfree
system is automatically activated if you insert the handset
in the carrier during a call.
You can use the Retrieve call function
to transfer a call back from the handset*
or the second handset* to the handsfree
system. The system automatically switches to the handset if
you remove the handset from the carrier during a call via the
handsfree system.
Switch
You can switch between two phone calls (one of them will be
on hold at any given time). The MMI display shows the active
call, the call on hold and the length of time for the connection.
Press the control button for End call
to end whichever call is currently active. The call on hold
will remain in the hold queue and can be continued by pressing
the control button for Options
and selecting Resume.
Join conference
Up to six callers can take part in a conference (depending on
the network service and mobile phone contract).
Select Join conference

to set up a conference. The call on hold and the active call
are added to the conference.
To set up a further call, select Hold
to place all the members of an existing conference on hold.
Then turn the rotary pushbutton to Further
call and press the rotary pushbutton to call up the main
telephone functions. You can enter a telephone number via the
speller or select it from a call list
Link. Select OK or
Dial to start dialling. To add
this caller to the existing conference, select
Join conference.
Select Resume if you would like
to retrieve all callers of an existing conference from the hold
queue. The Show conference participants
option allows you to display the callers.
Answering a further call
If you are already talking on the phone when someone else calls,
the options Answer and
Ignore will appear on the MMI display.
If you select Answer, the active
call will be placed on hold and you will receive the incoming
call. If you select Ignore, the
incoming call will be declined.
Replace
If you already have a call on hold and are talking to a second
caller when a third call is received, the options
Replace and
Ignore will appear on the MMI display.
If you select Replace, the active
call will be replaced by the incoming call. If you select
Ignore, the incoming call will
be declined. The call on hold will remain in the hold queue.
Note
- The option Call waiting must be activated on your mobile phone for you to be made aware of incoming calls during a conversation Link.
- The options available during a call may vary depending on the mobile network service provider and the mobile phone you are using. For more information, contact your mobile network service provider or refer to the operating instructions for your mobile phone.
