Connect the portable player to a 3.5 mm jack plug* and plug the extension cable into the AUX-IN socket.
Press the function selector button marked MEDIA.
Press the control button for Source.
Turn the rotary pushbutton to External audio input and press the rotary pushbutton. After the player has been detected successfully, the display will show External audio source is active.
You may hear some brief interference when connecting or disconnecting the 3.5 mm jack plug. To avoid this interference, you can either activate the mute function or another audio source (e.g. radio) before connecting and disconnecting the portable player.
You can select the audio files via the controls on the portable player. The volume can be adjusted via the ON/OFF button, the Input level option
Link, the multi-function steering wheel or directly via the controls on the portable player.

Note
- We recommend setting the volume of the portable player to about 70 percent of maximum.
- Using a portable player with the engine switched off will drain the battery.
