Applies to vehicles: with HomeLink
You can program the buttons for the HomeLink universal remote control
in the headliner.
Programming a button
Switch on the ignition.
There are two ways to program a button: press the particular
button you would like to program. The MMI will guide you through
the programming routine. Or:
Select: Function selector button CAR
> control button (Car)*
Systems > Vehicle settings
> Garage door opener >
Program garage door opener.
Select the button you would like to program.
Follow the directions on the MMI.
If the garage door drive also has to be synchronised with the
HomeLink module, please refer to the instructions for the garage
door drive.
Pressing a button
To open the garage door, press the programmed button. The diode
-A- will light up or flash.
To close the garage door, press the button again.
Erasing the button programming
Select: Function selector button CAR
> control button (Car)*
Systems > Vehicle settings
> Garage door opener >
Clear program settings >
Yes.
Displaying the version/status/regional code
Select: Function selector button CAR
> control button (Car)*
Systems > Vehicle settings
> Garage door opener >
Version information.
The procedure described above is suitable for programming both fixed
code and rolling code systems.
Programming a button
The required distance between the hand-held transmitter and
the HomeLink module inside the radiator grille depends on the
system you are programming. With some systems, you may need
to keep the button on the hand-held transmitter depressed for
longer or briefly release and press it again. It may require
several attempts.
Erasing the button programming
Each of the buttons can be reprogrammed individually. The procedure
is the same as for initial programming.
If you would like to clear the programmed settings simultaneously
for all buttons, select the option Clear prog. settings.
Programmed buttons cannot be erased individually.
Note
- For security reasons it is advisable to erase the programming of the HomeLink buttons prior to selling your vehicle.
- With some types of garage door opener, you may need to briefly release the button during programming and then press it again.
