When operating the mobile phone via the MMI system, it doesn't matter whether the mobile phone is connected to the car telephone kit or the phone pre-installation. The basic operation is always the same. However, the number of functions available does depend on which system your vehicle is equipped with.
You can use the telephone mode for the following functions:
- Dialling telephone numbers (via the speller, from the directory or from the call lists)
- Answering and ending calls
- Putting calls on hold
- Conference calling1)
- Switching between calls1)
- Accessing the directory of your MMI, mobile phone or SIM card
- Sending and receiving text messages2)

On vehicles with a car telephone kit, you can choose between three different telephone modes in the settings to optimise the network response Link.
