Applies to: vehicles with Audi side assist
The following functions can be activated if the system detects a collision risk from the vehicle behind:
- Activation of reversible front seat belt tensioners at certain road speeds.
- Automatic closing of windows and sun roof*.
- Inflation of side cushions* on backrest.
- Rapid flashing of hazard warning lights1).
Audi drive select*: this function is not available in certain driving modes.
WARNING
- Please note that the radar sensors for the side assist* are not always able to detect all objects which may represent a potential hazard - risk of accident!
- Pre sense does not react to people, animals, crossing traffic or objects that cannot be clearly recognised.
- Reflecting objects, such as crash barriers, heavy rain or ice can impair the function of the radar sensors and the ability of the system to detect a collision risk.
CAUTION
Impacts or damage to the bumper, wheel arches or underbody can cause misalignment of the radar sensors. This can impair the function of the pre sense rear system. Have the systems checked by a qualified workshop.
Note
- The functions of the pre sense rear system are deactivated in towing mode.
- The functions of the pre sense rear system may be deactivated if a fault develops in the side assist*.
