Folding centre backrest up/down
Applies to: Sportback
Pull the release lever at the top -1- and fold down the backrest -2- Fig. 92►.
Move the backrest back into its upright position and make sure it engages.
Applies to: Coupé
When the backrest is engaged in its upright position, it can be locked -C- with the emergency key link►. This prevents access to the luggage compartment from inside the vehicle. The luggage compartment can only be extended when the backrest is not locked.
- Make sure that the rear backrest is securely locked in position so that the seat belt can provide proper protection in the rear seats.
- The rear backrest must always be securely latched so that objects stored in the luggage compartment will not fly forward during sudden braking.
- If you need to adjust the front seats when either of the rear backrests is folded forwards, please take care to avoid damaging the rear head restraints.
- Lower the rear head restraints before you fold down the backrest link►. This is particularly important when the Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE)* is mounted - risk of damage!
- When returning the backrest to an upright position, make sure that the seat belts for the outer rear seats are not caught up and damaged.
