Applies to vehicles: with handset for the car telephone kit
The factory-fitted handset is already bonded to the car telephone kit. You may have to bond the handset to the car telephone kit if the connection is not established automatically. The bonding procedure is started from the handset.
Important: The vehicle must be stationary, the ignition must be on and the Bluetooth function and discoverability must be switched on in the MMI

Inserting/removing SIM card
- To insert: Take the handset out of the handset carrier. Insert the SIM card into the card holder. The missing corner of the SIM card should be at the bottom left.
- To remove: Press the SIM card holder downwards and let it go again Fig. 1. The card will then eject from the slot.
Bonding the handset
- To scan for a vehicle base station: Select the control button Menu > Settings > Bluetooth > control button OK.
- To bond the handset: Select the vehicle base station (e.g. "Audi MMI 2613") > control button for Conn. on the handset. Select and confirm Yes on the MMI. A PIN code for establishing the connection will appear on the MMI display. Select and confirm Yes again on the MMI. Enter this PIN code on the handset and press the control button for Ok. Or: To enter any 16-digit PIN code, select and confirm No when the PIN code is displayed and enter your own personal PIN code on the MMI and then on the handset.
The exact name of the Bluetooth base station on your vehicle (e.g. "AUDI MMI 2613") can be retrieved using the Bluetooth name function

Switching the handset on and off
The handset switches on/off automatically together with the ignition. In addition it can be switched on/off manually.
- To switch on/off manually: Press and hold the on/off button -9- Fig. 2 for several seconds.
WARNING!
Always keep the SIM card out of reach of young children; it is relatively small and could possibly be swallowed.
Caution!
- Do not use any force when sliding the SIM card into the slot. When inserting the SIM card, make sure it is in the correct position.
- There are many different telephone SIM cards available on the market, so it cannot be guaranteed that every card will function properly. Never attempt to operate your telephone with an incompatible SIM card, as this can cause damage to the card or your telephone.
- The SIM card contacts can be easily damaged by scratches or bending. For this reason, handle the SIM card with care.
Note
- You have about 30 seconds to enter the PIN code.
- The handset can be deleted from the list of Bluetooth devices Link.
- If you have selected a Bluetooth audio player as the audio source in the Media menu, the connection will not be re-established automatically if you switch on the handset manually. To establish the connection, insert the handset in the carrier. The audio source is muted briefly, and the Bluetooth connection is subsequently re-established.
