Audi A4 Service and care Checking and top... Engine oil
You can check the engine oil level via the infotainment system.
Please refer to the safety notes .
Park your vehicle on a level surface.
Switch off the warm engine.
Switch on the ignition again without starting the engine.
Wait approx. two minutes.
Select the following on the infotainment system: MENU button > Car > left control button > Servicing & checks > Oil level.
Read off the oil level on the display. Top up the engine oil if the bar in the oil level display is near the “min” mark link.
CAUTION
The engine oil must never drop below the “min” marking – risk of engine damage!
Note
The oil level display is intended solely for information purposes. An oil level warning will appear in the instrument cluster if the oil level is too low. Add more oil and then close the bonnet. The current oil level will be shown on the infotainment system the next time the ignition is switched on.
Note
Depending on how you drive and the conditions in which the car is used, oil consumption can be up to 0.5 ltr./1000 km. Oil consumption on RS models can be up to 0.8 ltr./1,000 km. Oil consumption is likely to be higher for the first 5,000 km. For this reason the engine oil level must be checked at regular intervals, preferably when refuelling and before a journey.
