The boot lid can be released manually from the luggage compartment or from the rear seat bench.
On Audi A4s with folding backrest
Remove the emergency key Link.
Prise off the cover in the boot lid trim (using the emergency key) Fig. 1.
Press the release lever in the direction of the arrow to unlock the boot lid.
On Audi A4s with fixed backrest
Carefully pull the left side of the rear seat bench so far out of its mounting that you can grasp hold of the Bowden cable Fig. 2.
Remove the adhesive tape -B-.
Pull the loop -A- until the boot lid is released.
Stick the Bowden cable back on and press the seat bench back into its mounting.
WARNING!
After the boot lid has been released manually on Audi A4s with fixed backrest, ensure that the bowed wire retainer under the rear seat bench Fig. 2 engages securely in the mounting when reattaching the rear seat.
