Applies to: vehicles with plug-in hybrid drive
EV mode can only be selected if the following conditions are met:
- The high-voltage battery must be sufficiently charged.
- The high-voltage battery must be at an appropriate temperature (not below approx. -10 °C or above 40 °C outside temperature).
- The vehicle must not be travelling faster than approx. 130 km/h.
- The kick-down feature must not be used.
- The selector lever must not be in the S position.
If one or more conditions are not met, EV mode will be deactivated. The combustion engine will start automatically. An indicator lamp will appear in the instrument cluster to indicate this status. The LED in the button and the indicator lamp will go out.
Electric driving will not be resumed automatically. Activate the EV mode again link►.
Using the kick-down feature while the vehicle is in EV mode will cause EV mode to be suspended temporarily; it will be reactivated when you ease up on the accelerator at speeds of under 130 km/h. The LED in the button will light up and remain lit, and the indicator lamp will appear.
Note
For technical reasons, for instance if there is a build-up of condensation in the engine, the combustion engine may need to run for a longer period. During this phase it is not possible to drive on electric power alone.
