The departure time specifies when the vehicle interior is to reach the desired temperature. You can set the timer in the auxiliary air conditioning or auxiliary heating/air conditioning* menu in the infotainment system.
Auxiliary air conditioning: Setting timer

Select:
MENU button >
Car > left control button >
Auxiliary A/C > right control button >
Program timer.
Set the time and date.
Press the
BACK button.
Press the rotary pushbutton to confirm the setting and activate the timer. A

If you reprogram the timer, the next calendar date is automatically entered on the infotainment system. To activate the auxiliary air conditioning or auxiliary heating/air conditioning* for the following day, confirm the setting (

Error messages
- The high-voltage battery charge is too low to heat/cool the vehicle on electric power. On vehicles with auxiliary heating/air conditioning* you can still heat/cool the vehicle using the fuel in the tank.
If one of the following symbols appears in the infotainment display, you will not be able to switch on the auxiliary air conditioning or auxiliary heating/air conditioning*:
- A system error has occurred.
- The fuel level is too low.
Note
- You can set the timer up to seven days in advance.
- You can control the air conditioning in the vehicle interior when charging the high-voltage battery via the charging timers link► . The performance of the air conditioner depends on the power rating of the mains connection.
- To ensure that the timer operates correctly, check that the correct time and date are entered in the infotainment system settings link► .
- The auxiliary air conditioning or auxiliary heating/air conditioning* may continue to run for a long period after the programmed departure time.
