Applies to Audi A3s: with Audi adaptive cruise control
The adaptive cruise control assists you when driving in congested traffic. When the start/stop system is active, the engine is switched off under certain conditions. The engine can be switched on again...

Using the adaptive cruise control to set the Audi A3 in motion1)
The message ACC: automatic go appears briefly after the adaptive cruise control has detected an object in front and braked the Audi A3 to a standstill. In this mode, your Audi A3 can drive off automatically.
If the message ACC: automatic go is on the display and the Audi A3 in front drives off, your Audi A3 will automatically start moving WARNING!.
You can reactivate the ACC: automatic go message briefly by pulling the lever to position -2- Fig. 1.
The ACC: automatic go mode is deactivated if you press the brake pedal.
Conditions for deactivation of the system
For safety reasons, the adaptive cruise control is deactivated when the Audi A3 is stationary:
- if the driver's door is opened.
- if the Audi A3 remains stationary for over 3 minutes.
- if the driver's seat belt is unbuckled.
If the ACC: automatic go1) message appears, your Audi A3 will start moving even if there is an obstacle between your car and the Audi A3 in front - risk of accident!
Note
- If your Audi A3 does not start moving as expected with the adaptive cruise control, even though the ACC: automatic go1) message is displayed, you can set the Audi A3 in motion by tapping the accelerator with your foot.
- The start/stop system operates normally while you are driving with the adaptive cruise control.
