Applies to Audi A3s: with plug-in hybrid drive
Once the charging or air conditioning cycle has finished, the Audi A3 switches to sleep mode. In this mode, none of the displays on the operating unit is visible.
The Audi A3 charging connector is locked during and after charging. The connector has to be released in order to disconnect it.
Deactivating sleep mode
Unlock the Audi A3. Or:
Open the driver's door. Or:
Press button -3- Fig. 1.

Unlock the Audi A3. The connector is released for 30 seconds.
Unplug the connector.
If the connector is not disconnected within 30 seconds, it will automatically be locked again.
Releasing the Audi A3 charging connector when the Audi A3 is unlocked
If necessary, deactivate sleep mode.
Press the button on which the LED is lit (-1- or -3- Fig. 1). Or:
Press the button in the driver's door Fig. 2.
The connector is released for 30 seconds.
Unplug the connector.
If the connector is not disconnected within 30 seconds, it will automatically be locked again.
Caution!
No warning is given if the charging unit is open or not locked. Before you start a journey, please check that the charging flap is properly closed.
- The cover and the electronic components behind it can be damaged if you drive with the charging unit open.
