Make sure the ball joint is clean and undamaged.
Check the shaft section -1- and operating lever -2- Fig. 1 on the ball joint to make sure they are clean and undamaged.
The spring mechanism inside the ball joint must be in the "ready" position.
Check whether the operating lever -2- is in the "ready" position -A-.
Setting the spring mechanism to the "ready" position (if required)
If the operating lever is in position -B-, it must be moved to the "ready" position -A-.
Insert the key -4- in the lock and turn it until the red marking on the key is facing upwards. Ensure that the key remains horizontal while bringing the operating lever -2- into the "ready" position; otherwise it will not be possible to move the operating lever.
Hold the neck of the ball joint with your left hand. Press the locking pin -5- Fig. 2 all the way in with your right hand and, at the same time, push the operating lever forcibly in the direction of the arrow -6- until it locks in position WARNING!.
The ball joint can only be installed if the internal spring mechanism is in the ready position.
