You can use the child lock to restrict video DVD playback. Your settings will be password-protected.
Important: A video DVD must be playing.
Setting the safety level
Press the control button for Settings.
Turn the rotary pushbutton to Child lock and press to confirm. The speller will appear on the MMI display.
Enter the password.
Turn the speller to OK and press the rotary pushbutton to confirm.
Turn the rotary pushbutton to Safety level and press the rotary pushbutton.
Turn the rotary pushbutton to select a level (e.g. Level 5) and press to confirm. The selected level will be stored.
Changing the password
Press the control button for Settings.
Turn the rotary pushbutton to Child lock and press to confirm. The speller will appear on the MMI display.
Enter the password.
Turn the speller to OK and press the rotary pushbutton to confirm.
Turn the rotary pushbutton to Change password and press to confirm. The speller will appear on the MMI display.
Enter the new child lock password.
Turn the speller to OK and press the rotary pushbutton.
Enter the new child lock password again.
Turn the speller to OK and press the rotary pushbutton to confirm. The new password will be stored.
Eight safety levels are available for the child lock function. If you select child lock level 5, for example, all DVDs with safety levels 1-5 can be played. Playback of DVDs with a higher safety level will be blocked.
To cancel all restricted access settings select off.
Note
  • The child lock safety levels comply with the US standards of the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA). Please note that DVD classifications may differ in European countries.
  • Not all video DVDs have a child lock feature.
  • The child lock password set at the factory is "1234".
  • If you enter the wrong password three times in a row, you will not be able to enter a password for approximately one minute.
  • The child lock password can only be reset by an Audi workshop.
